Shakira once again wrote an unforgettable chapter in Mexico this Sunday, March 1. The Colombian singer offered a free concert in the Zócalo of Mexico City that gathered around 400,000 people, a figure that breaks the record for historical attendance in the emblematic square of the capital.

The concert attracted followers who even camped out days before to secure a good spot and sing each of the songs alongside the artist. The setup included multiple giant screens distributed throughout the Historic Center square so that thousands of attendees could enjoy the show no matter where they were in the enormous square.

The massive turnout surpasses the previous attendance record of 300,000 people set by the band Los Fabulosos Cadillacs in 2023 on that same stage, consolidating Shakira as one of the most influential and beloved artists in Mexico. In addition to the emotional impact and the energy of the public, the event featured a security and logistics deployment to attend to the attendees, highlighting the magnitude of the most massive free concert seen in the Plaza de la Constitución

The closing of the tour in the Zócalo not only marked a milestone for Shakira, but also reaffirmed the deep bond between the artist and her Mexican fans, who responded with enthusiasm and filled to the maximum one of the most iconic public stages in Latin America.
