The enigmatic runner disguised as Joker who has captured all eyes during the Sanfermines 2026 bull runs now has a name. He is Lacey Mrzena, an American content creator and influencer from Chicago who has turned his first visit to Pamplona into one of the most commented phenomena of these festivities.

Under the name of Straightdroplace, the young man has thousands of followers on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, where he shares his travels and challenges. After being identified without makeup, he explained to local media that he chose to characterize himself as the popular Batman villain for both religious and cultural reasons, a decision that quickly aroused the curiosity of numerous attendees.

However, his presence has not only attracted attention because of the costume. The Pamplona Municipal Police identified and sanctioned him for repeatedly violating the Bull Run Ordinance. During the fifth run, he was caught running with a mobile phone in his hand, recording a selfie a few meters from the bulls and even touching one of the animals, behaviors expressly prohibited for safety reasons. The sanction he faces can reach 6,000 euros.

After being intercepted at the end of the fifth bull run and the subsequent heifer festival, in which he suffered a spectacular tumble without serious consequences, Mrzena was released. However, when he tried to participate again in the sixth bull run, agents located him before the start of the route and preventively expelled him to prevent him from repeating the infractions that had led to his sanction.
