The qualification of Spain for the 2026 World Cup final caused a wave of celebrations that reached the Royal Household. Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor, and Infanta Sofía followed the convincing victory of the National Team against France (0-2) from home and shared with citizens some of the moments experienced during the match through a video released on their social media.
The images show the King and Queen and their daughters enthusiastically celebrating the goals of Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro, which sealed Spain's pass to the grand final. Felipe VI raised his arms after the goals and embraced Princess Leonor, while Queen Letizia hugged Infanta Sofía. For a good part of the match, Leonor and Sofía could also be seen following the game with visible tension, holding hands and attentive to every play before erupting in joy with the final whistle.
Along with the video, the Royal Household published a congratulatory message addressed to Luis de la Fuente's players: "Spain is in the final! You have once again shown why you are one of the great national teams in the world. Now, with an entire country by your side, it's time to fight for the title. Thank you for making us enjoy this journey. Go for it!" The message was shared a few hours after a victory that places Spain just one step away from conquering a new World Cup star.

Messages of support for the national team from the political sphere
The celebration also extended to the political sphere. The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, congratulated the National Team through his X profile with a brief message: "Spectacular. Once again, the National Team makes us dream." From the Popular Party, congratulations were also quick to arrive. The party published an effusive "GOOOOOOO!" accompanied by images of its president, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, celebrating the goals, while the popular leader later encouraged the team to conquer "the second star," assuring: "Congratulations! Impressive! All of Spain is with you."
The PP spokesperson in Congress, Ester Muñoz, also reacted, highlighting the symbolism of the triumph by writing: "On a July 14, Spain defeats France! We have been better. Goals from a Basque and an Extremaduran conquering a World Cup in America". For his part, the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, shared a video of Lamine Yamal's little brother celebrating one of the National Team's goals, a scene that quickly became one of the most commented images of the night on social media.
Among the political reactions, that of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, also stood out, as he congratulated the National Team with a message of support: "You are our pride, One step away from glory!". In addition, he defined the day as "a doubly historic day", as Spain's qualification for the World Cup final coincided with the entry into force of the agreement on Gibraltar reached between Spain and the United Kingdom.
