Federico Jiménez Losantos has unleashed an intense controversy after the publication of an opinion article in El Mundo on the occasion of LGTBI+ Pride, in which he harshly criticizes the movement, queer theory, and diversity policies promoted in recent years. And he does so right from the headline: "Communist pedophile and socialist whoremonger Pride"
In the text, the journalist argues that the left has "kidnapped" Pride, criticizes that the celebration has stopped being called "Gay Pride" to incorporate the LGTBI+ acronym, and attacks trans people and the so-called queer theory, going so far as to state that it "denies biological sex" and promotes irreversible treatments in minors.
Furthermore, he dedicates a good part of his article to linking left-wing leaders and parties with various cases of assaults and sexual offenses, to conclude with a criticism of the presence of political representatives in Pride celebrations: "It was something to see Óscar López flirting with his Sumar partners. The leader of the party of the pimp-deputies and whoremongers, that mafia of machos who have marginalized capable women in favor of prostitutes paid with public money, alongside the communists of Podemos, Sumar, Compromís or the Mareas who, with Yolanda at the bow and Oltra at the stern, have protected so many criminals and so many sexual offenses. Oltra's husband, a pedophile who raped a minor in his wife's care, now awaiting trial. Or Ron, Yolanda's old comrade, who sadistically abused a student and infected her with syphilis. Or the pedophile Martiño, or the pedophile Santaelices, who was denounced by three from IU and Yolanda kicked them out of the party. Monedero is condemned for degrading treatment of his students, the Errejón case continues, and the tavern owner Pablenin, scourge of capitalists who don't finance him and journalists who let themselves be, prattles on. He marries Lilith and Afigenova, but the mother of his three children, and of the 'free-rapists law', says that children have the right to choose with whom they have sexual relations. Goodbye, child abuse; hello, pedophilia. Communists for pedophilia, socialists for prostitution. How much pride."
The words of Jiménez Losantos have provoked a wave of rejection on social media, where numerous users consider that the article contains stigmatizing messages towards LGTBI+ people and, especially, towards trans people. Among the most shared comments are messages such as "This should be a hate crime", in addition to criticisms directed at El Mundo for having given space to a text of these characteristics.

The reactions criticize that the text groups in the same narrative the defense of LGTBI+ rights, queer theory, and various cases of sexual offenses, an association they consider unjustified, aimed at discrediting the collective and its demands, as well as politicizing a struggle for equality and civil rights. The publication comes just days after the Pride celebrations in Spain, marked by the vindication of the collective's rights and by the political debate on the increase in hate speech and setbacks in equality denounced by LGTBI+ organizations.
