La 1 is experiencing a historic June: it leads the month thanks to the World Cup and reaches its best mark in 15 years

International football boosts the public broadcaster, which regains monthly leadership in a historic June for its recent trajectory

La 1 has closed the month of June with a remarkable 14.3% audience share, a result marked by the extraordinary performance of the Football World Cup, which has made the competition the great television driver of the period.

The public channel registers a particularly positive evolution with an increase of +3.1 points compared to May and +3.6 points in year-on-year comparison, also achieving its best June in 15 years and its first monthly victory since July 2024.

Beyond sports, TVE has also reinforced its performance with the premiere of El perro andaluz by Manu Sánchez, which has achieved 15%, 15.6% and 13.7% in its three installments (the last one in late night), in addition to benefiting from other current events such as the visit of Pope Leo XVI to Spain, which boosted consumption in its first days of the month.

Among the daily programming, La hora de La 1 and Mañaneros 360 have consolidated, one more month, as the main drivers of the channel's audience share. In the breakdown by time slots, La 1 has shown particularly solid behavior, leading the morning (15.9%), the early morning (15.8%), the afternoon (15.6%) thanks to formats such as Directo al grano, Malas Lenguas or the daily fictions Valle Salvaje and La Promesa, the prime time (14.8%) and the late night (11.8%), with daily programming that has functioned as a stable base beyond the specific boost from football. 

As for the rest of the schedule, formats such as La Revuelta and, especially, Al cielo con ella have noticed the schedule changes derived from the World Cup, while MasterChef 14 closed the season with a correct performance within the channel's average. Its replacement, Maestros de la costura Celebrity 2, has started its run with a 9.4%, in a context of maximum competition marked by the impact of football.
