La 1 of RTVE maintains its position in May, consolidating a positive evolution in its audience performance and signing its best data in a month of May since 2012.
The public channel reached an 11.2% screen share, with a notable year-on-year growth compared to the same month of the previous year. This advance acquires special relevance as it occurs without the usual impulse of the Eurovision Song Contest, whose absence this year has modified the traditional distribution of audiences.
Even so, La 1 has managed to sustain its growth thanks to the good performance of its daily programming. News programs, current affairs magazines, and entertainment offerings have been key to this improvement, especially standing out in different time slots.
The public channel has managed to position itself as a reference in the early morning, morning, and afternoon slots, with a particularly outstanding performance in formats such as Telediario Matinal, La Hora de La 1 and Mañaneros 360, which continue to consolidate their presence among the regular audience of these hours. In the afternoon slot, RTVE also maintains a leading role thanks to programming that combines fiction and entertainment with titles such as Valle Salvaje, La Promesa, Malas Lenguas and Aquí la Tierra, a block that has managed to strengthen its competitiveness and regain relevant positions within daily television consumption.
In addition, La 1 has strengthened its position among different audience profiles, including men, young people, and middle-aged adults, as well as in the commercial target, one of the most relevant indicators for the advertising market.
In a context of strong television competition, the public channel thus confirms a period of sustained growth that reinforces its role as a solid alternative within the Spanish audiovisual landscape.
