La 2 premieres this Wednesday the special program Grandes maricas y bolleras de la Historia (Great Queers and Dykes of History), an informative proposal broadcast within the framework of LGTBIQ+ Pride and hosted by the artist Rodrigo Cuevas.
The show, produced by RTVE together with Globomedia and based on the project by Otto Mas, features the participation of names such as Abril Zamora, María Peláe, Luis Merlo, Bob Pop or Valeria Vegas, among others, who provide context and perspective to a collective narrative about identity and memory.
Throughout its 90 minutes of broadcast, the program proposes a symbolic journey through an imaginary museum where the stories of historical figures whose affective or sexual lives were hidden, reinterpreted or directly silenced by their time are rescued.
With this proposal, RTVE opts for a narrative that combines dissemination and popular culture to reflect on the price of love and desire in different stages of History, and how LGTBIQ+ identity has traversed key figures of universal culture.
