The company Aena has signed an agreement with the Spain Film Commission (SFC) with the aim of promoting the airports in its network as reference locations for audiovisual productions such as films, series, or documentaries. This strategic alliance was formalized by María José Cuenda, Aena's Commercial and Real Estate General Director, and Juan Manuel Guimeráns, president of the SFC.
The collaboration will allow positioning terminals, runways, and airport spaces as attractive locations for filming, thus reinforcing the image of Spain as an international destination for the film and television industry. In addition, efforts will be made to develop a regulatory framework that streamlines production processes in these environments, facilitating access for production companies to the facilities.
🎬 Airports can also be the setting for great stories.

The agreement is not limited to the realization of filming, but also aims to promote the so-called "screen tourism", a phenomenon that encourages viewers and followers to visit the locations used in their favorite films and series. To this end, Aena and the SFC will organize joint promotional actions and participation in festivals, markets, and fairs of the audiovisual sector both in Spain and abroad.
With this initiative, Aena joins the Board of Trustees of the SFC alongside major corporations such as Telefónica, Netflix, IZEN and Amazon, highlighting the potential of its infrastructures beyond passenger transport and its commitment to the growth of the national audiovisual sector.
