Furthermore, the script is penned by Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch) and the direction is by Chris Sweeney, with a staging that combines classic mystery with a modern visual aesthetic. In an interview with elPeriódico.com by video call, the series creator confessed his deep personal connection to Agatha Christie's work. "I've been a fan of hers since I was about 12 years old. I read every novel of hers that I could get my hands on," he recalled, reminiscing about how he would go to the library in his native Merseyside every week to devour each new title. When rereading her bibliography in search of a story to adapt, *The Seven Dials Mystery* was the one that surprised him the most, precisely because he didn't remember it from his childhood: "It's a book in the purest Christie style, with all the elements you expect, but also a little box of surprises. It's very fun, lively, and cinematic."
