RTVE already has new plans for La 1's weekend afternoons. The public broadcaster is preparing Cosas nuestras, a new current affairs and entertainment magazine show that will be presented by Aida Bao and Aitor Albizua. The format will fill the gap left by Cine de barrio after its move to La 2 and will seek to recover the essence of the great live current affairs programs on public television.

The choice of its two presenters also represents a new commitment by RTVE to two faces that have gained prominence on the channel in recent months. Aida Bao now makes the leap to her own project after having served as a substitute this summer on La Hora de La 1 and Mañaneros 360, while Aitor Albizua will combine this new adventure with his work at the helm of Cifras y letras.

Cosas nuestras will recover the spirit of España Directo

The new program is born with the intention of recovering a formula closely linked to public television: that of street magazines capable of bringing current events and stories from different parts of the country to viewers.

To do this, Cosas nuestras will bet on live connections and a combination of current affairs, social issues, and cultural content. The idea is for the program to have a significant presence outdoors and give space to stories and protagonists from different parts of Spain.

The format will be produced by Catorce Comunicación, a production company that was behind Aquí la Tierra until the reformulation of the space and its internalization by RTVE. In addition, the channel plans to have professionals from the corporation itself to be part of the program's team.

Aida Bao gains weight at RTVE

For Aida Bao, Cosas nuestras represents a step forward in her career within RTVE. The journalist has been gaining prominence in the channel's programming through different substitutions and now takes the helm of her own format for weekend afternoons.

This summer, Bao took over from Silvia Intxaurrondo on La Hora de La 1 and Javier Ruiz on Mañaneros 360, two of the channel's reference news programs. Her incorporation into the new magazine confirms RTVE's confidence in the journalist to assume a more prominent role in its programming.

Aitor Albizua adds a new project to La 1

For his part, Aitor Albizua faces his return to La 1's afternoons with a live and current affairs format. The presenter will remain linked to Cifras y letras, which will continue to be part of his career at RTVE, while joining this new weekend proposal.

The new project thus represents the reunion of two presenters who have been gaining space on public television and who will now share the hosting of a program designed to accompany viewers during Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

For the moment, RTVE has not specified the premiere date or all the details of the structure of Cosas nuestras, although the project is already shaping up to be one of the novelties of La 1's weekend programming for the new season.
