Alba Carrillo faces her incorporation into La Séptima with a very clear idea of what she expects to find —and contribute to building— in the new channel. During the presentation of the project, the collaborator advocated for a more human television, where information is not the only axis and where emotions, entertainment, and humor also play a leading role.
Carrillo explained that she feels especially identified with the spirit of La Séptima because, as a viewer, she has not found a channel where she feels represented for a long time. She admitted that she watches a lot of television and that, despite finding proposals she likes, she doesn't quite feel reflected in the current generalist offer. In this context, she argued that there is a broad audience that also does not find a space in line with their way of understanding television.
One of the concepts she insisted on most was precisely plurality. The collaborator considers it necessary to recover a scenario where different points of view can be heard without expressing an opinion implying receiving attacks or being subject to censorship. “The conversation will be for everyone, the debate will be for everyone,” she asserted during her speech.
La Séptima's future entertainment proposal will also have, as she advanced, an important emotional component. Carrillo argued that television needs to recover "humanization" and feelings and claimed that the new channel could become a "refuge" for emotions. To this, she added humor as one of the fundamental elements of her project, especially in a television context that she considers in need of new voices.
A television without “buts”
The collaborator also emphasized the way she has experienced her incorporation into the new team. As she explained, she feels that for the first time she has arrived at a project where no conditions have been placed on who she is or how she should present herself publicly. “We love you as you are,” she claimed they told her from La Séptima, before stressing that this time “there has been no but.”
That freedom is, precisely, one of the characteristics she wants to convey to the viewer. Carrillo described the channel as a kind of family where everyone can sit at the same table regardless of their ideas. “Here we are all welcome,” she affirmed, before insisting that her team works with the intention that there be “no censorship of any kind.”
Her speech was also marked by a personal dimension. Carrillo explained that one of her main motivations for being part of the project is to contribute to the world in which she wants her son to grow up. In this sense, she expressed her concern about the growing difficulty in understanding plurality and about the perception that there is a single truth in the face of the diversity of opinions.
The collaborator thus defended a television that allows open discussion of values and political positions and that does not turn personal opinions into a reason for targeting. Her objective, as she explained, is to contribute “whatever she can, emotionally and informatively speaking,” but also to reclaim the space for laughing, conversing, and disconnecting.
Carrillo closed her intervention looking both to the future and to the legacy received from previous generations. Her purpose, she explained, is to do her bit to build the world she wants to leave to her son, also drawing on the strength of her grandmothers and grandfathers. A declaration of intent that serves as a starting point to understand how she envisions her new stage in La Séptima and the entertainment program she is preparing for the channel.

Question, 'ElConstitucional.es': Alba, you are starting a new stage in La Séptima. How have you dreamed of this program? Who would you like to have, for example, as collaborators? You have been to many places and know many people. Who would you like to have by your side?
Answer, Alba Carrillo: Well, let's see, there are very good people that I hope to have by my side, also with a political touch, people who know, who have a lot of humor. Humor is fundamental and it is also a symptom of intelligence. Therefore, the far right does not work on it much and I think it will be a very important loophole for us. My program, which is entertainment, I think humor is fundamental so that they don't understand it and can't answer us.
Q. Also, a few days ago you published a video in which you said you felt orphaned as a viewer. You said: “I watch Antena 3 and I see the same thing as watching Telecinco.” How do you see it now with the arrival of La Séptima?
R. A. C. Let's see, I've been a long time... Besides, I like television, but also as a viewer. I watch a lot of television and it's true that for a long time I haven't felt recognized on any of the channels. There are some that are making some turns and swerves that no... that I love some things, but I don't understand others. And it's true that right now there is a very large group of people with a very clear way of thinking who can't find anything to watch on generalist television.
Q. You also said you'd like to interview Ana Rosa. What would be your first question to Ana Rosa?
R. A. C. Well, I would love for Ana Rosa to tell us about Villarejo and her husband and all that, because it's true that she is at the forefront of information, but that topic has never occurred to her, which is indeed news and has been news, that she would clarify it first for all viewers.
I believe one must be very honest with those who watch us, and when one makes a mistake, which I have done and intend to continue doing, the first thing is to face it and sit down and say: "Hey, look, today I am news for this; let's talk about this topic," even if it's mine, without censorship and without silences.
Well, that would be my first question. I would love it. Ana Rosa, I invite you, you also say now that if you are not in favor of Sánchez you are a "facha rosa" (pink fascist) and that Sánchez is immoral, not immoral, with whom you sleep every day.
