Atresplayer and Suma Content expand their alliance with two new series: a neighborhood drama and a true crime chronicle in development

Atresplayer and Suma Content strengthen their creative alliance with the announcement of two new original series, Las Vecinas and Crimen en España, within a collaboration that has already produced titles such as Veneno, Cardo, and the recent Mariliendre. Both projects are currently in the development phase and expand the joint venture between the Atresmedia platform and Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi's production company.

Las Vecinas is presented as a choral drama centered on the prolonged enmity between two women who live door-to-door, Josefina and Teresa, whose conflict extends for more than a decade and ends up affecting their entire neighborhood and family environment. The story, which even leads to a judicial process, reconstructs the relationship between the two through different testimonies, with an approach that combines domestic tension and a social perspective. This story of enmity, with an intensity almost comparable to that of a romantic relationship, inevitably recalls the case known as 'Las Vecinas de Valencia', although on this occasion the fiction does not make direct reference to the case.

Executive production is handled by Montse García, Andrea H. Catalá, and Mariano Piñeiro. The project is created by Natalia Boadas and Almudena Monzú, who also shares directing duties with Javier Ferreiro.

For its part, Crimen en España addresses the rise of true crime and the public's growing interest in events, following a journalist who investigates different cases for more than a decade in a country increasingly fascinated by this type of content. The fiction not only focuses on the crimes but also on the media and television impact they generate. 

In the executive production section, the series is led by Ignacio Corrales, Mariano Piñeiro, and Andrea H. Catalá, with Montse García at the helm of Atresmedia's Fiction direction. The creation of the series is by María Bastarós, while the direction is signed by Claudia Costafreda.

With these two proposals, Atresmedia and Suma Content consolidate a production line that alternates social drama with the exploration of contemporary cultural phenomena, reinforcing a catalog where intimate stories, everyday conflicts, and critical views on current society coexist.
