Atresplayer starts filming 'Las Vecinas', its new original series starring Ane Gabarain and Nora Navas

Atresplayer continues to expand its catalog of Spanish fiction and has already begun filming Las Vecinas, its new original series starring Ane Gabarain and Nora Navas. The fiction, produced by Atresmedia in collaboration with Suma Content, is created by Natàlia Boadas and Almudena Monzú, who also directs the series alongside Javier Ferreiro, and proposes a judicial drama with neighborhood conflict as its starting point.

The story revolves around Josefina and Teresa, two women who live door to door and maintain an enmity that has lasted for more than a decade. What begins as a dispute between neighbors ends up affecting the entire community and their families, leading to a trial. Through the testimonies of those involved, the series reconstructs a past that reveals that both seemed destined to meet, turning the confrontation into a story of hatred as intense as a love story.

Alongside Gabarain and Navas, Las Vecinas brings together an ensemble cast made up of Laura Weissmahr, Ana Rujas, Marian Álvarez, Manolo Solo, Carlos González, Lorena López, Raquel Pérez and Roger Casamajor, among others. For its creators, the series explores how the search for truth within a judicial process ends up questioning the very idea of truth, relying on an ensemble narrative where each character provides a different version of events.

The start of filming coincides with the close of a historic season for Atresplayer, which claims to have gathered 24 million viewers and surpassed 760,000 subscribers, consolidating itself as the leading Spanish platform. In recent months, it has premiered titles such as Mar Afuera, La Ruta: Vol. 2: Ibiza, La Nena, Entre tierras 2, Las hijas de la criada, Los Protegidos: Un nuevo poder, 33 días, Ágata y Lola and the fifth season of Drag Race España.

The platform is already looking to the next season with a wide array of premieres. In addition to Las Vecinas, it is preparing new fictions such as A la deriva, Trazos ocultos, Sira, Mi querida Lucía and Crimen en España, along with the return of FoQ: La nueva generación, ¿A qué estás esperando? and Perdiendo el juicio. In the entertainment field, the sixth edition of Drag Race España, the second season of Drag Race España All Stars and the documentary series Los hombres equivocados will also arrive, reinforcing Atresplayer's commitment to original production.
