Slow-motion runs on the sand are back on television. Fox has presented the first trailer for Baywatch, the new series that revives the universe of Baywatch with Stephen Amell (Arrow) as the protagonist. The fiction will arrive in the United States on January 13, 2027 and will continue the story of the Californian lifeguards with new characters, family conflicts, and some returns from the original production.

Stephen Amell takes over from David Hasselhoff

The actor will step into the shoes of Hobie Buchannon, the son of Mitch Buchannon, the emblematic lifeguard played by David Hasselhoff. In this new stage, Hobie follows in his father's footsteps and leads a team of beach lifeguards, until his life changes with the appearance of Charlie Vale, the daughter he never knew.

Played by Jessica Belkin, Charlie wants to follow the family legacy and become a lifeguard alongside her father. Her arrival will be one of the main axes of the plot, which will combine interventions on the beach with the personal relationships of its protagonists.

The return of several mythical characters

Although the series opts for a new generation, it will also bring back actors known to fans. David Chokachi will return as Cody Madison, while Erika Eleniak will reprise the role of Shauni McClain, Michael Bergin will return as JD Darius, and Kelly Packard will once again play April Giminski.

The cast is completed with names such as Shay Mitchell, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, Brooks Nader, Noah Beck, Livvy Dunne, Nadia Gray, and Mary McDonnell, among others.

When Baywatch premieres

The new Baywatch will premiere in the United States on Fox on January 13, 2027. In Spain, Prime Video has confirmed that it will distribute the series in January, although the exact day of its arrival has not yet been specified.

With the first trailer, the production anticipates its commitment to recovering some of the most recognizable elements of the original fiction, from its lifeguards and Californian landscapes to the iconic slow-motion runs that made Baywatch a television phenomenon.
