Carles Porta returns to the genre of true crime with Abandonados, the new documentary series that is now available on Disney+. The production reconstructs one of the most shocking cases of Spanish social chronicle: the discovery in 1984 of three siblings aged 2, 4 and 6 abandoned at a Barcelona train station, a story that remains shrouded in unknowns more than four decades later.
The series follows the life journey of the protagonists, who today, already adults, try to reconstruct their past and understand why they were never claimed by their parents. Driven especially by the youngest of the siblings, Elvira Moral, the narrative delves into an emotional search marked by memory, silence, and the wounds of time.
In the presentation of the project, Porta reflects on the human background of this type of stories, assuring that his work has led him to coexist with opposite extremes of human nature. “I am accustomed to seeing the two faces of humanity, goodness and evil”, points out the journalist, who once again explores the limits between truth, pain, and the need for answers in a case that even today continues to leave open questions.
