David Cantero lashes out at Feijóo and Ayuso over the "unborn conceived" law on RNE: "What if we look a little more after those who have already been born?"

David Cantero dedicated one of his monologues on  Las tardes de RNE to criticize the law of the "conceived not born" promoted by Isabel Díaz Ayuso in the Community of Madrid and which Alberto Núñez Feijóo has promised to extend to the whole of Spain if he comes to power. The journalist called the initiative a "silly thing" and argued that it reopens "a debate absolutely overcome in our society".

During his intervention, Cantero defended that the norm responds to the postulates of the "most stale and conservative ultracatholicism" and warned that the ultimate goal would be to question the right to abortion. In his opinion, it is about "twisting" a biological fact to fuel an "unnecessary" debate that, he affirmed, seeks to "control women's bodies".

The communicator wanted to make it clear that he does not question aid to pregnant families, but rather the political use of that measure. For this reason, he launched a reflection addressed to the Popular Party: "What if they took care first, for example, of the boys and girls who were already born and live in poor conditions in the Cañada Real and in so many other shantytowns that exist in Spain? What if before worrying so much about the unborn we look a little more at the rights and protection of the lives of those who were already born?".

To conclude, Cantero listed some of the needs that, in his opinion, should be priorities: more pediatricians, public nursery schools, health and education professionals, affordable housing, public transport and better conditions for work-life balance. "Many, many things are needed for those who, many, many years after being born, continue to live in poor conditions," the journalist concluded.
