The film, an ensemble romantic comedy, is starring a cast formed by Natalia Verbeke, Javier Rey, Susana Abaitua, Oriol Pla, Álvaro Mel, Ana Valeria Becerril, Christian Checa and Berta Castañé, accompanied by Àlex Brendemühl, Paula Malia and Àlex Maruny.
Set in the magical day of Sant Jordi, when the streets of Barcelona fill with books and roses, the story intertwines four romantic encounters that explore different ways of relating today: from an infidelity about to be discovered to blind dates with all their doubts or a crush that triggers a search through the city, passing through a story that tests the limits of polyamory. The feature film is presented as a tribute to the universe of the series and to romantic comedy in general, mixing realism and aspiration in the narration of contemporary relationships.
With Dates, the franchise created by Freixas makes the definitive leap to the big screen after its television success, which turns Barcelona and Sant Jordi into emotional protagonists of a love story that seeks to resonate with the experiences of today's audience.
