From pandemic videos to Pixar: how Bad Bunny ended up as 'Pizza with Sunglasses' in Toy Story 5 (with Bizarrap also in the cast)

Bad Bunny will have a role in Toy Story 5, voicing a curious character called Pizza con Gafas de Sol (Pizza with Sunglasses), an addition that directly connects with some videos the artist published during the lockdown in 2020.

As producer Lindsey Collins explained during the project's presentation, those home videos of the singer — in which he appeared playing and voicing characters — piqued the curiosity of the Pixar team. From there, the idea arose to contact him for a possible role in the new installment of the saga.

The proposal, as reported by the production team, materialized almost spontaneously. The artist accepted the invitation and ended up participating in dubbing sessions in both Spanish and English, even providing different versions and registers of the character, which enriched its construction within the film's universe.

The character he will play, Pizza con Gafas de Sol, is part of a group of forgotten toys that survive in an abandoned space, a subplot that will be relevant within the main story of the film, although its exact weight remains a secret.

The premiere of Toy Story 5 is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, in Spanish cinemas, while the film's team has already announced that it will include additional scenes and final surprises with the participation of the Puerto Rican artist. And it won't be the only surprise: Bizarrap also confirmed yesterday that he will be Santa de jardín (Garden Santa) in an Instagram post.
