Gonzalo Miró defends 'Malas Lenguas' against Borja Sémper's accusations regarding Javier Aroca's decontextualized words: "Here we don't use anyone's illness to do politics"

The statements by Borja Sémper about the health situation in Ceuta have caused a new confrontation on social media with Javier Aroca. The PP spokesperson assured that cases of “scabies, tuberculosis, and hundreds of gastroenteritis” had been detected and maintained that, given the presence of infectious-contagious diseases, “the health risk is real and the obligation of any responsible government is to act”.

The words of the popular leader were discussed on Malas Lenguas, where Javier Aroca questioned Sémper publicly making these types of health assessments. “Do they not have another gentleman dedicated to making public medical diagnoses named Borja Sémper?”, the collaborator affirmed.

The controversy increased after Sémper responded to Aroca on social media: “I wish Javier Aroca a long life full of health and that he never has to make public an illness that affects him. I also wish for a public television where these things cannot be said without anyone correcting him”.

Aroca himself responded to the popular spokesperson assuring that he regretted that he had interpreted his words in that way: “I regret that you think I was referring to your illness, from which I am glad you have recovered. However, it was not as you say: you proposed confinement due to gastroenteritis in Ceuta and I was only referring to that. A hug”.

From Malas Lenguas, Gonzalo Miró came to Aroca's defense and considered that the collaborator's words had been taken out of context. “Here at no time has anyone's personal illness been discussed”, Miró defended, before recalling that Aroca's intervention referred exclusively to Sémper's statements about the health situation in Ceuta.

Gonzalo Miró closed the controversy by inviting Sémper to participate in the program and defending that the debate should focus on “telling things as they are”, while also asserting the role of public television against the dissemination of decontextualized interpretations on social media.
