Televised summer has its own rituals and El Grand Prix del Verano is, probably, one of the most recognizable. The contest presented by Ramón García along with Lalachus, Gorka Rodríguez and Wilbur once again turned Monday night into a party of towns, impossible challenges and humor with a new episode of its second semifinal.
The broadcast achieved a 9.8% audience share and 835,000 viewers, figures that allow the La 1 format to maintain its position as one of the public channel's big entertainment bets during the summer months. In addition, the broadcast reached more than 2.7 million unique viewers, confirming that the program continues to have a convening capacity much higher than what its average audience reflects.
The data is even more significant among children. El Grand Prix reached a 25.3% share among child audiences, demonstrating that the generational relay of a format that has been part of the Spanish television imaginary for decades is still assured. The combination of competition, humor and spectacle continues to work in the face of an increasingly fragmented offer.
With the grand final already on the horizon, La 1 faces the outcome of the edition with one of its summer classics once again becoming a meeting point. Ramón García and his team have managed to preserve the essence of the format while incorporating new faces and elements, making the old magic of the towns find its place again in prime time.
