HBO Max has announced the appointment of Guillermo Farré as the new head of Original Local Production in Spain, in a move that reinforces its strategy to boost national fiction. Farré will report directly to the company's international leadership within the local original content area.

Guillermo Farré will assume "full responsibility" for HBO Max's fiction projects in Spain and will report directly to Deniz Sasmaz Oflaz, vice president and director of local original productions in Turkey, Italy, and Spain, within the company's new international structure.

The appointment was made official just a week after his departure from Movistar Plus was announced, where he served as head of original cinema and Spanish cinema since early 2023. During his time at the Telefónica platform, he participated in the development of titles such as Los domingos, Sirat, Los Tigres, El ser querido, and La bola negra, in a context of fiction area renewal after changes in content direction.

Before his time at Movistar Plus+, Farré had an extensive career at Warner Bros Discovery, where he was responsible for content and editorial strategy in several international markets. From that position, he promoted the production of series such as Vota Juan, Maricón Perdido, and No me gusta conducir, as well as various documentary projects for the group's channels.

With this move, HBO Max reinforces its commitment to local production and to creating a portfolio of original content in Spain, within the framework of its international strategy. The company highlights the executive's combination of creative vision and strategic experience to drive projects with local identity and global projection.
