Hugo Pereira was forceful in analyzing on Malas Lenguas the episode starring Núcleo Nacional in Puerta del Sol and the statements by Vito Quiles in support of the organization. The collaborator focused, above all, on the legal situation of Núcleo Nacional and questioned that a group to which he attributes anti-democratic postulates can carry out its activity within legality.
“I believe that what needs to be done with these organizations is to ban them,” Pereira stated during his intervention. The journalist recalled that Núcleo Nacional is also a political party and maintained that it is an organization “of neo-Nazis” and “far-right,” before posing a question about its own legal existence: “What is a legalized political party in Spain doing, which has completely anti-democratic postulates as its slogans?”.
Pereira insisted especially on this issue and delivered one of the most forceful phrases of his intervention: “I don’t understand why these organizations are legalized when they go against even democratic principles.” His reflection came after Núcleo Nacional tried to move to Puerta del Sol to surround the encampment, a movement that was stopped by the Police and ended with three people arrested.
The role of the far-right Vito Quiles
The collaborator also referred to Vito Quiles, after he published a message on social media in which he attacked the campers in Puerta del Sol. In his words, Quiles called them “lazy, violent, scum” and argued that, if the State did not act, “the people” should. In that same context, he made a call to support Núcleo Nacional.
The program then reviewed various statements by leaders of the Partido Popular about Quiles. Borja Sémper stated that personally he found him “a very nice guy,” although he clarified that he did not place him in a category of “reference journalism.” For his part, Miguel Tellado highlighted his “bravery” and “daring” and spoke of the gratitude of thousands of Spaniards towards him for giving voice to issues that, in his words, others are not capable of addressing.
Pereira then moved the debate to the political arena and questioned the relationship between the PP, Vox and figures like Quiles. The journalist stated that he defends the alternation between PSOE and PP because he considers it “healthy for democracy,” but maintained that the scenario presented is different due to, in his opinion, a relationship between the Popular Party and Vox and a recognition of Quiles within the popular space.
At that point, Pereira also recalled statements by Alberto Núñez Feijóo, who during a press conference addressed the journalists present referring to Quiles as “your colleague.” An intervention that the collaborator used to close his argument about the role that, according to his analysis, the communicator is acquiring within the political environment of the Popular Party.

A new tour marked by controversy
The announcement by Vito Quiles comes after the episodes of confrontation that surrounded his previous tour of Spanish universities. The new tour once again opts for a format based on public events and meetings that already generated protests and criticism during his first tour. Far from presenting it as a simple agenda of events, the tour takes place in a context of growing controversy around his messages and his public appearances.
The agitator contemplates several stops throughout the national territory, including Pamplona, Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Zaragoza and Bilbao, as well as an appointment in Tenerife. This is a second tour after the university tour that Quiles previously carried out in different parts of Spain.
