Javier Aroca, incredulous in 'Malas lenguas' before Feijóo for considering the Kitchen "settled": "It's an absolute cheek"

The political analyst Javier Aroca has strongly criticized the president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, after he assured Susanna Griso on Espejo Público that the Kitchen case is "a politically settled matter" for his party, despite the trial continuing in the Audiencia Nacional.

During his intervention in Jesús Cintora's program, the presenter recalled that the judicial procedure is still open and questioned Feijóo's decision to close a case in which "there is talk of an operation to destroy evidence of corruption investigation" and in which "Fernández Díaz is facing 15 years in prison".

"Feijóo has settled it. And Feijóo is being very tough in other corruption cases," the presenter ironized, before reproaching the popular leader's double standard. In his opinion, it is inconsistent to demand accountability in other procedures while downplaying a case that is still being judged.

When panelist Marta Gómez Montero compared that attitude to the government's in keeping investigated officials in their posts, Cintora insisted on focusing the debate on Feijóo's words. "Do you think the Kitchen case is settled? Do you think Feijóo, when he makes this statement, is up to the task? He comes from being very demanding with Begoña Gómez and now, suddenly, they ask him about this and he says: 'It's settled'," Cintora posed.

The analyst concluded by calling the PP president's statements "an absolute brazenness" and added that, in his opinion, it "borders or directly verges on shamelessness". The collaborator then added: "It's a contempt for people as if they didn't realize it."
