The program Malas Lenguas has addressed this issue in an intense discussion in which Javier Aroca, Jesús Cintora and the journalist Ana Cabanillas participated, following the accusations and the media treatment of certain cases of disinformation.
Aroca has shown his support for Rubén Sánchez and has warned of the impact of this type of targeting: “Rubén Sánchez has a very extensive list of insults, accusations, and malicious insinuations”, defending that he has been for years “showing his face” and demanding institutional protection against what he considers a dangerous dynamic of spreading hoaxes.
The analyst Javier Aroca has been especially forceful in this regard, demanding a firmer institutional response: “I hope that Justice wakes up once and for all and puts a stop to this type of behavior”, in reference to the dissemination of this type of public targeting.
The analyst has also gone further by reflecting on the media functioning of these accusations: “First they launch a hoax, they throw shit, you defend yourself as best you can… but no one can ever remove the dirt from you”, criticizing what he considers a repeated strategy of insinuations that, even if they don't hold up over time, leave reputational damage that is difficult to reverse.
In the debate, also participated Jesús Cintora, in a context of generalized criticism towards what the collaborators have described as dynamics of disinformation and smear campaigns that prolong over time and leave a lasting impact on the reputation of the individuals singled out.
