Collaborator Javier Aroca expressed yesterday Monday afternoon on the program Malas Lenguas his skepticism about judge Antonio Viejo's management of the investigation affecting Alberto González Amador, partner of the Madrid president Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
During his intervention, Aroca focused on the delay in judicial authorization for the UCO to access the investigated person's bank accounts, a procedure requested months ago and still pending resolution according to information cited in the program.
The panelist defended the right to criticism within the democratic system and even stated that “we have the right to doubt and criticize” the magistrate's actions, in reference to the timing of the investigation.
Aroca stressed that judicial independence must coexist with public scrutiny and debate, especially in politically relevant proceedings, and called for greater agility and transparency in the processing of such decisions.
