The director of Hoy por Hoy, José Luis Sastre, pointed out during the conversation on the La Ser program that the actor seemed to speak from nostalgia when remembering certain figures from his professional environment, even suggesting that there might be a certain sense of loss or absence of role models.
For his part, the actor Juan Echanove qualified that impression by explaining that, in his case, he has always lived with colleagues from previous generations: “I am an actor whose friends and my entire generation with whom I have lived were at least 15 years older than me, in some cases 20, even 25”, he pointed out. In that sense, he added that over time he has accepted the loss of some of those people who have marked his career as something natural.
The performer also recalled the influence of already deceased figures from his profession, whom he considers key in his artistic and personal formation, and cited Juan Diego as an example of a vital attitude focused on contact with new generations.
Sastre made him notice that, despite everything, he also maintains ties with younger friends with whom he shares moments of leisure and closeness. Echanove confirmed this and closed the idea by emphasizing his stance on the passage of time: “I have learned to cry in silence and not to live from nostalgia. I prefer to live in the present and have some ambition for the future, but just enough.”
