RTVE has already chosen its representative for Junior Eurovision 2026. The young Lucas Paulano, winner of La Voz Kids in 2025, will be in charge of defending Spain's colors in the next edition of the children's contest, which will take place on October 24 in Ta' Qali (Malta). The public broadcaster has opted for the artist from Jaén after an internal selection process held during July.
The announcement was made this Thursday during the last installment of El perro andaluz before its summer break. In the program, Paulano performed the song Grande Amore, by Il Volo, accompanied by the Orquesta Flamenca de Sevilla and the Coro Gospel It, a performance with which he once again demonstrated the vocal potential that made him the winner of La Voz Kids.

Born in Jaén in 2016, Lucas Paulano began to gain notoriety after his triumph in Antena 3's musical talent show. Since then, he has shared the stage with Manuel Turizo during several concerts of his Spanish tour and has released his first single, Todo sigue igual. In addition, he combines his artistic career with his piano studies at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música Ramón Garay and continues to work on new compositions with producer Alejandro Jaén.
RTVE highlights the young artist's interpretive ability and sensitivity as the main assets of the Spanish candidacy. The director of TVE, Sergio Calderón, has assured that Paulano possesses "a prodigious voice," as well as "a magnetism with the camera that reaches the heart from the first minute." For his part, the head of the Spanish delegation in Eurovision, César Vallejo, has stressed that, despite his 10 years, he has a vocal technique unusual for his age and a great ability to move the audience. Spain will thus seek to conquer a contest in which it will participate alongside 15 other countries and in which RTVE maintains its presence as Israel will not compete in the 2026 edition.
