RTVE has confirmed the return of MasterChef Junior and has already opened the casting for what will be its twelfth edition. In this way, the children's version of the popular culinary talent show will return to La 1 after a year without being broadcast.
The announcement was made through the social networks of Shine Iberia, producer of the format, with a video starring Jordi Cruz. From this moment, boys and girls between 8 and 12 years old can now submit their application through the producer's website to participate in the selection process.

The new edition will arrive after RTVE decided not to program MasterChef Junior last Christmas, thus breaking with the tradition of broadcasting the contest on those dates. The last installment, broadcast between late 2024 and early 2025, registered an 8.6% screen share and an average of 786,000 viewers.
With the opening of the casting, the public channel once again bets on one of its most consolidated entertainment brands. The new aspirants will compete to take over from Valentina, winner of the previous edition, in a season whose premiere date has not yet been confirmed by RTVE.
