Netflix adapts the podcast 'Criminopatía' and reinforces its commitment to true crime with a new documentary series in Spain

Netflix has announced the start of production of Criminopatía, the television adaptation of Clara Tiscar's popular podcast, in a new bet on true crime in the Spanish market. The platform seeks to expand its catalog of documentaries with a proposal that delves into violence, justice, and human behavior from a more analytical perspective.

The project is already underway and will be developed by You First Originals, with Joanna Pardos directing and a creative team made up of Luis Calvo and Javier Martínez, among others. The series proposes an approach that goes beyond the criminal event to focus on the social and psychological dynamics surrounding each case.

In a statement, Clara Tiscar celebrated the leap of her format to audiovisual: "I am enthusiastic about this new challenge and with the possibility of bringing the universe of Criminopatía to the documentary language together with Netflix," she said. The creator also highlighted that the production is allowing "to delve even deeper into the cases and approach them from a new visual and narrative dimension."

The series is based on a podcast with millions of accumulated listens and will address real cases that occurred in Spain, with the aim of offering a deeper immersion into the nature of crime and its consequences.

With this move, Netflix reinforces its presence in the true crime genre with its own production in Spanish, betting on formats with a long narrative trajectory and multiplatform expansion.
