Netflix has announced that filming for Narnia: The Magician's Nephew has officially wrapped, the new film adaptation directed by Greta Gerwig, which will arrive in theaters and on the streaming platform in late 2026.
The production, based on the book The Magician's Nephew —which narrates the origins of C.S. Lewis's fantasy universe— concluded its recordings after approximately six months of filming between London, Manchester, and production studios in England. The cast includes Emma Mackey as the White Witch, Daniel Craig as Uncle Andrew, along with Carey Mulligan, Denise Gough, Beatrice Campbell, Tom Bonington, David McKenna, and Ava Jager. Meryl Streep was in talks to voice Aslan but her official incorporation into the cast has not yet been confirmed.
After the cameras stopped rolling, the project has now entered the post-production phase, where specialized companies are working on visual effects and the music will be composed by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt.
This feature film is part of Netflix's ambitious plan to revitalize the Narnia saga with new installments. The film is scheduled to premiere initially in theaters and in IMAX format on November 26, 2026, before arriving on the platform on Christmas Eve, December 25.
With filming officially wrapped, expectations for this cinematic reinterpretation of one of the most beloved fantasy universes remain high among fans of the genre and Lewis's original work.
