Netflix has revealed the first advance of its anticipated television adaptation of Orgullo y prejuicio, the iconic novel by Jane Austen first published in 1813, which will return to the screen in the form of a six-episode limited series.
The production, which will premiere in fall 2026 worldwide, features a high-caliber cast led by Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden as the reserved Mr. Darcy, reimagining the celebrated story of love and pride with an approach that seeks to be faithful to the original spirit but also attract new generations.
Completing the cast are Olivia Colman and Rufus Sewell as Mr. and Mrs. Bennet, Freya Mavor, Rhea Norwood, Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery in the roles of the Bennet sisters, in addition to other names such as Daryl McCormack, Louis Partridge, Siena Kelly, Jamie Demetriou and Fiona Shaw in key roles in the story.
The series is written by Dolly Alderton, known for Everything I Know About Love, and directed by Euros Lyn (Heartstopper), with the intention of reviving Austen's classic romance both for those who already know the work and for those approaching the universe of Pride and Prejudice for the first time. This new project joins the long tradition of adaptations of the novel, at a time when period dramas —and especially those inspired by the British Regency, like the Bridgerton— have proven to have enormous appeal among the global audience.
