Netflix and Ubisoft officially confirmed the production of a live‑action series based on the video game saga Assassin’s Creed, generating great anticipation among followers. The adaptation aims to respect the historical and narrative essence that has turned the franchise into a global phenomenon.

The project has revealed part of its cast, with Noomi Rapace, Ramzy Bedia, Sean Harris and Corrado Invernizzi, who will bring to life characters immersed in the eternal struggle between the Brotherhood of Assassins and the Order of the Templars and join Lola Petticrew, Toby Wallace, Zachary Hart, Tanzyn Crawford and Laura Marcus. The choice of these actors reinforces the series' ambition to combine action, intrigue, and historical fidelity.

One of the most attractive elements of the new adaptation —with the hope that it surpasses the film starring Michael Fassbender— is that it sets the story in ancient Rome, specifically during the reign of Emperor Nero.

This leads us to a story set between the years 54 and 68 A.D., an especially turbulent period of the Roman Empire, characterized by political intrigues, power struggles, and several of the most famous episodes in Roman history. Among them could appear the Great Fire of Rome, a key event to understand Nero's reign and which could become one of the most important moments of the plot.

The chosen setting has generated great enthusiasm among fans, who consider this era as one of the most attractive of the entire saga. Although a release date has not yet been announced, the series is already shaping up as one of the most anticipated television releases based on video games, promising to conquer both followers of the saga and new viewers. Despite not having announced an official release date, everything indicates that filming will begin in 2026 in Rome.
