Netflix is already warming up engines for the second season of Animal, the rural comedy that captivated audiences last autumn. The platform has confirmed the incorporation of actor Álvaro Mel to the cast led by Luis Zahera and Lucía Caraballo, thus strengthening a fiction that became a phenomenon inside and outside of Spain.

The series, which mixes costumbrista humor with the Galician rural environment, managed to sneak into the national Top 10 and reach number 1 in countries like Spain, Argentina, and Uruguay, consolidating its international impact. Its formula —among sheep, family entanglements, and everyday situations taken to the extreme— has been key to connecting with a wide audience.
To announce the signing, Netflix has launched a promotional video in which Álvaro Mel undergoes a fun “casting” in front of the protagonists, maintaining the lighthearted tone that characterizes the series. The new season promises “more humor, more entanglements… and more sheep”, according to the team.
Created by Víctor G. León and written by Teresa Bellón and César F. Calvillo, Animal will continue exploring the relationship between humans and animals through Antón and Uxía, in a story where family and work constantly intertwine. For now, the platform has not confirmed a release date, but the anticipation is already served.
