Prime Video has issued a statement asking fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty (El verano en el que me enamoré) to respect the privacy of the filming of the new movie in the saga, currently in production in Wilmington (Carolina del Norte).

The platform has indicated that, although it understands the expectation, the presence of followers at filming locations and the dissemination of set information can interfere with the team's work and generate security problems. “Help us protect the magic of Cousins until it is ready to be shared”, the service has asked on social media.

The message arrives as the filming of the final movie progresses, directed by Jenny Han, creator of the story, who also co-writes the script with Sarah Kucserka. The film seeks to close the narrative arc of the protagonist, Belly, after the success of the series.

Starring Lola Tung, Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno, the fiction has become one of the biggest youth phenomena of Prime Video. The platform and the creative team insist on maintaining a controlled environment to preserve the final experience of the story.

With this production, Amazon closes the universe of The Summer I Turned Pretty with a film that will put an end to the saga, after three seasons of great global impact.
