RTVE has announced a profound modification of its programming for this Wednesday, October 28, after the serious train accident that occurred between Urda and Los Yébenes, in Toledo. The public broadcaster has decided to prioritize news coverage of the tragedy and suspend several of its usual broadcasts, including La Revuelta, the program presented by David Broncano, and the contest presented by Jesús Vazquez, El Túnel: Avanza y Gana to make way for a Special News Report.

The changes also affect La 1's daily fiction. RTVE has canceled the broadcasts of Valle Salvaje and La Promesa, as well as Malas Lenguas, both on La 1 and La 2, Aquí la Tierra and the program En Play, available on RTVE Play. The decision thus alters a good part of the schedule planned for the afternoon and evening.
Instead, the corporation has designed a program focused on the follow-up of the accident. According to the communicated schedule, Mañaneros will be extended until 2:15 p.m., when a special news program will begin on La 1 and Canal 24 Horas. Afterwards, Telediario 1 will be broadcast, followed by Directo al grano, while at 6:30 p.m. another special news program will start, extending until 8:58 p.m.
