RTVE has already revealed what Hitster: the game of great hits will be like, its new bet for musical entertainment with Dani Martínez as master of ceremonies. The public channel presented this Wednesday at the FesTVal in Vitoria the first images of the format, which will arrive "soon" to La 1's prime time. Produced together with Fremantle, the contest will transfer the essence of the well-known board game to television, combining songs, competition, humor, and memories associated with music.
The program will bring together in each installment two teams made up of an anonymous contestant and two celebrities, who will have to demonstrate how much they know about music and, above all, if they are able to place each song at the right time. Dani Martínez will be in charge of leading a competition that aims to have a festive and lighthearted atmosphere. "It's all like a town party and I feel comfortable there," explained the presenter during the presentation. The first season will have eight installments, although RTVE has not yet specified its premiere date.
The mechanics start with a first challenge in which the two teams will listen to a medley composed of four songs from the same year. The group that gets closest to the correct date will get the first turn. From there, they will have to build a musical timeline, placing each song in the year they believe it belongs. A mistake can cause the song to go directly to the rival team, while each group will also have a wildcard with which they can try to steal one of their opponents' songs.
The competition will also incorporate Bingo Rounds, simultaneous tests that will allow new positions for the timeline to be obtained. Songs may appear through video clips, images from the RTVE archive, or musical fragments, and the first team to correctly place ten songs will advance to the Grand Final. There they will have to face a final timeline with ten different years and will have 20 seconds to place each song. Each correct answer will be worth 1,000 euros, up to a maximum prize of 10,000 euros.

Their performances, in addition to providing the soundtrack to the program, will be integrated into the competition itself: the teams will have to demonstrate that they know how to recognize them and place them correctly within the history of music.
