RTVE Corporation has officially unveiled the 12 towns that will compete in the Grand Prix del Verano 2026, the emblematic contest that returns this year with the presentation by Ramón García and the participation of local godfathers and godmothers.
The selection was made among 1,034 registered municipalities, of which 83 reached the final phase, and covers localities from different autonomous communities:
- Altura (Valencian Community)
- Balanegra (Andalusia)
- Blanca (Region of Murcia)
- Cantalejo (Castile and León)
- Muros (Galicia), Polinyà (Catalonia)
- Pradejón (La Rioja), Pravia (Asturias)
- Quintanar del Rey (Castile-La Mancha)
- San Juan de la Rambla (Canary Islands)
- Serranillos del Valle (Community of Madrid)
- Zumarraga (Basque Country).
This edition introduces new dynamics for the challenges, maintaining the humor and family fun that characterizes the program. In addition, the population range for the participating municipalities was expanded, allowing towns of between 3,000 and 10,000 inhabitants to compete, which guarantees greater geographical and public diversity.
The broadcast will take place both on La 1 de RTVE as well as on RTVE Play, consolidating the Grand Prix as one of the most anticipated television events of the summer.
