Sara Carbonero has once again sat in front of the cameras to look back and remember one of the moments that most transformed her life. The journalist was one of the guests on Antena 3's La Mesa, where she shared a table with Cristina Pardo, Míchel, David Summers, Inma del Moral, and Máximo Huerta. A conversation that left space for television, fame, and also for some especially personal memories.
The encounter also had a special component for Carbonero and Cristina Pardo. Before starting the interview, both starred in an emotional reunion after two decades. "We started together at laSexta," the presenter recalled, as the two reminisced about those first years on television, when, between laughs, they admitted that "we didn't even know how to make a U."

But the conversation soon led Sara Carbonero to one of the episodes that marked a before and after in her career: the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and her relationship with Iker Casillas. The journalist acknowledged that that moment "changed absolutely everything" and that the leap in popularity was so sudden that it became difficult for her to manage.
"It was very drastic, from one day to the next," Carbonero explained when recalling those years. Fame brought with it situations that until then were completely alien to her life, such as car chases and constant exposure to her every move and statement. An experience that, she said, ended up making her more "hermetic."

At the same time, that new life also opened the doors to a world she had until then contemplated from the outside. Thanks to Iker Casillas, she attended numerous events and met some of the people she had admired for years, including the King and Queen and the singer Alejandro Sanz, with whom she would end up forging a friendship.
Precisely Sanz was the one who starred in one of the most emotional moments of the interview. The program surprised Carbonero with a message recorded especially for her: "Sarita, I love you very much. Since I'm such a fan of yours, I wanted to be here today. I hope to see you very soon and you know I love you".
The journalist could not hide her emotion upon hearing him. "I'm holding back a tear", she confessed, visibly surprised by the message. A reaction that put the most personal touch to a conversation in which Sara Carbonero not only recalled how fame arrived, but also everything she had to learn to live with it.
