The platform Prime Video has launched the first official trailer for Spider-Noir, its new series based on the universe of Spider‑Man Noir which places the hero in a dark version of 1930s New York. The production, which will feature eight episodes, is scheduled for its global premiere on May 27, 2026

In this project, Cage embodies Ben Reilly, an aging private investigator who, after a past as the city's sole superhero during the Great Depression, must once again confront crime and his own demons. The trailer previews an aesthetic inspired by film noir, with rainy urban landscapes, trench coats, and a more introspective tone than traditional adaptations of the character. The production moves away from traditional narrative and allows for the exploration of classic relationships and characters from a different perspective, including Cat Hardy, played by Li Jun Li, who could occupy a prominent role similar to Peter Parker's traditional love interest, Black Cat. The cast also includes actors such as Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, among others, and the production is led by showrunners and executives with experience in noir and action plots.

The series will premiere first on May 25 on MGM+ in the United States and two days later on Prime Video internationally, where all episodes will be available to watch at once. Viewers will be able to enjoy it in two visual formats: authentic black and white or “True Hue” color, something unusual in superhero productions.

Despite some fans having commented critically on the creative liberties taken, from the choice of protagonist to adjustments in secondary characters, it is very likely to position itself as one of the most daring and original superhero bets within Marvel's universe of television adaptations for 2026.
