The faces that have marked several generations of viewers have already gathered to celebrate 70 years of Televisión Española, as if they were The Avengers. RTVE has shared the first images of the meeting of some of the most emblematic presenters in the history of its news programs, who will coincide again on the Torrespaña set for an extraordinary edition of El Telediario de nuestras vidas.

The promotion of the special brings together journalists who have been part of different stages of public television and who, over the years, have also become references for other channels. The reunion includes names as recognizable as Ana Blanco, Matías Prats, Iñaki Gabilondo, Pedro Piqueras and Carlos Franganillo, along with other professionals who contributed to building the history of news programs.

Also participating alongside them are Olga Viza, María Escario, Manuel Campo Vidal, Lorenzo Milá and Paco Montesdeoca, historic presenter of weather information. The latter will share space with Mónica López, current head of TVE's El Tiempo department.

The reunion has a special meaning because several of its protagonists developed a good part of their careers on the public channel before moving to other media. This is the case of Matías Prats, one of Antena 3's most recognizable journalists; Pedro Piqueras, who was in charge of Informativos Telecinco until 2023, and Carlos Franganillo, current director of Mediaset News and presenter of Telecinco's night edition. Their participation has been possible thanks to the collaboration of Atresmedia and Mediaset.

A special Telediario to review 70 years of history

The meeting will culminate next Monday, October 19, when La 1 broadcasts El Telediario de nuestras vidas, an extraordinary 45-minute edition presented by Pepa Bueno. Journalists will once again stand before the cameras to report on some of the most outstanding news of the last seven decades, from the early years of black and white television to the present day.

The program features an original idea and direction by Carlos del Amor and production by Antonio Casado. The intention is to recover the usual structure of a news program, but with a retrospective look that allows recalling events that have marked the history of Spain and the evolution of television.

The initiative is part of the anniversary of TVE, which began its broadcasts on October 28, 1956. Throughout these seven decades, its news programs have accompanied several generations of viewers and have also been a breeding ground for professionals who later developed their careers in other channels.

With this reunion, RTVE seeks to pay tribute both to the journalists who have given voice to current events and to the teams that have made informative work possible for 70 years. An event that will bring together on the same set some of the most recognizable faces of Spanish television to remember the news that is part of the collective memory.
