In an interview granted to Onda Cero, within the program Más de uno, the lawyer Jorge Piedrafita addressed the complaint filed by his client against the now former deputy operational director (DAO) of the National Police, José Ángel González, for an alleged sexual assault.
During the conversation with Carlos Alsina, Piedrafita stated that neither he nor the complainant have received any communication from the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska. The lawyer pointed out that, if there were a willingness to contact, his availability is total and his phone is open for any conversation.
The lawyer also reported that, since the case became known, his client has been the target of attacks and attempts at public discredit. In his opinion, the priority should focus on guaranteeing the protection of the complainant and avoiding her re-victimization.
Likewise, he stressed that the investigation must clarify not only the reported facts, but also whether there were additional responsibilities or possible cover-ups. As he explained, they will be attentive to the decisions adopted by the Ministry to ensure that action is taken with transparency and with due guarantees.
