The new trailer for The Odyssey, the ambitious adaptation by Christopher Nolan of the classic by Homero, has finally revealed the complete cast of the film, confirming a top-tier star lineup for what is already one of the most anticipated productions of the year.

Matt Damon embodies Ulises in the return to Ítaca, while Anne Hathaway plays Penélope and Tom Holland brings Telémaco to life. Zendaya steps into the role of the goddess Atenea and Charlize Theron appears as the nymph Calipso, in a cast that combines mythology, epic drama and big names from Hollywood.

The preview also shows Robert Pattinson as Antínoo, one of Penélope's suitors, and John Leguizamo as Eumeo. Jon Bernthal plays Menelao, while the cast is completed with figures such as Benny Safdie, Himesh Patel, Mia Goth, Jimmy Gonzales, Lupita Nyong’o and Will Yun Lee, among other roles not yet revealed.

The film, produced by Universal Pictures, will premiere on July 17 and promises to recreate the long and tortuous journey home of Ulises after the Trojan War, with a staging that combines classical mythology and the visual signature of the British director.

Filmed entirely with IMAX cameras, La Odisea bets on a large-format visual spectacle, especially in its battle scenes, designed for the big screen. With an estimated budget of 250 million dollars, it becomes the most expensive film in Nolan's career after his success with Oppenheimer, with which he won the Oscar for best director.

The project has not been exempt from controversy, since part of the filming generated criticism from the Spanish film sector for its location in the occupied Western Sahara, which led to protests from several actors and human rights organizations. Even so, the new trailer confirms that Nolan is once again betting on a large-scale epic narrative, with an ensemble cast and a production designed to mark a new milestone in contemporary cinema, and which certainly highlights the filmmaker's intention to be a protagonist in the international awards circuit up to the Oscars.
