La Séptima begins to put a face to its new television venture and one of the names that will be part of the project is Hugo Pereira Chamorro, director of ElConstitucional.es, who joins as a collaborator. The network has shared a video on social media in which several of the professionals linked to the channel express what they expect from this new stage, marked by the intention of offering a different television. The premiere is scheduled for next November 5, the date on which the new proposal will begin its broadcasts on DTT.
Along with Pereira, the video allows identifying other professionals who will be linked to La Séptima: Albanta San Román, Lucía de la Riva, Marta Nebot, Elena Reiné, Euprepio Padula, Ana Pardo de Vera and Chema Garrido, among others. Although the network has not yet detailed what space each one will occupy, their interventions advance some of the lines they want to define the project. "What I expect from La Séptima is that it will be a groundbreaking, novel project," says Reinés, while San Román also highlights "rigor, optimism and enthusiasm" as essential elements.
Plurality and the defense of journalism occupy a prominent place in the preview. "A television that asks what others don't dare to ask," claims Chema Garrido, director of El Plural, while Nebot calls for "constructive debates and plurality" and, as Pardo de Vera points out, she expects "democracy, because journalism is democracy." The video also includes a defense of democracy by Euprepio Padula and a criticism of hate speech, with the wish that television once again be "the showcase for good people." These statements function as a first declaration of intent from a network that seeks to carve out a niche in the Spanish audiovisual landscape.
The incorporation of Hugo Pereira places ElConstitucional.es in the new television project through its director, who hopes "that we will be a great family, that we are going to give it our all, with a luxury program" that will combine his work at the head of the media with this collaboration. A television that is born, according to Pereira, from the idea of "What's happening? Well, turn on La Séptima."
Meanwhile, La Séptima continues preparing its launch and revealing some of the names that will accompany its premiere. Pending the full schedule and the formats in which each professional will participate, the video serves as a first preview of a team that champions information, debate, and plurality as pillars of its proposal.
Me hace mucha ilusión que podáis ir conociendo a algunos de nuestros colaboradores. pic.twitter.com/1gnumCf1zk
