The fourth season of The White Lotus is already underway and moves its story to the Costa Azul francesa, with special prominence of the surroundings of the prestigious Festival de Cannes. The series created by Mike White bets again on high-level settings, this time with a context directly linked to the glamour of international cinema.
One of the big novelties is that the filming could coincide with the Cannes Film Festival itself, which would open the possibility for the fiction to include real images of the event, something unprecedented until now in the series. This decision would reinforce the satirical approach of the production, which usually sets its plots in elite and high society environments.
The cast of this season is once again made up of a high-level ensemble cast, with names such as Helena Bonham Carter, Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, Kumail Nanjiani, Alexander Ludwig, Chloe Bennet, Sandra Bernhard or Heather Graham, among other guest performers and significant supporting actors. The intention is to maintain the character of a choral production with multiple intertwined stories in the same luxury setting.
Regarding the locations, the series has settled in two emblematic enclaves of the south of France: the hotel Airelles Château de la Messardière and the Hôtel Martinez, both recognized for their exclusivity and their strong relationship with high-purchasing-power tourism.
At the moment there is no official release date confirmed, although forecasts suggest that the season could arrive at some point in 2027. Meanwhile, anticipation grows given the change of scenery and the possibility that the series integrates for the first time real elements from one of the most important festivals in the world of cinema.
