Atresplayer continues reinforcing its commitment to Spanish fiction and has already announced the premiere date of 33 días, the first series created by the prestigious investigative journalist Carles Porta. The production, inspired by real events, will arrive on the platform next June 7 and will feature José Manuel Poga and Julián Villagrán as protagonists of an intense story of escapes, persecutions, and limit relationships.
The fiction recreates the escape of Juan José Prieto and Mateo Calatrava, two prisoners who managed to escape from Ponent prison, in Lleida, in October 2001. For 33 days, both managed to keep the Mossos d’Esquadra at bay, activating a police operation that tested a still very young autonomous force questioned by other institutions. In the series, Poga and Villagrán play these two fugitives united by a relationship as complex as it is dangerous, marked by dependence, admiration, and survival.
Alongside them, the cast includes names such as Nausica Bonnín, Pau Durà, Blanca Parés or Xavi Sáez. The series will be composed of six episodes and has been written by Javier Olivares, Jordi Calafí and Xabi Puerta, under the direction of Anaïs Pareto Onghena. With this premiere, atresplayer adds a new great production to its extensive catalog, consolidating itself as one of the most powerful Spanish platforms in the audiovisual landscape.
