The presentation of the Gold Medals for Merit in the Fine Arts 2024, which was scheduled to take place this Tuesday, January 20 at the Rojas Theater in Toledo with the presence of the King and Queen, and in which 38 personalities and institutions from the cultural sphere were to be honored, has been postponed by the Ministry of Culture. The reason for the delay is the train accident that occurred last Sunday in the town of Adamuz, Córdoba, in which, according to official reports, at least 39 people have died and there are numerous injuries after the derailment of two high-speed trains, the causes of which are still under investigation.

The decision responds to a gesture of respect and condolence towards the victims and their families, at a time when the country is in mourning for the tragedy, in addition to affecting travel. The Ministry has announced that a new date for the event will be communicated shortly, which also included a dinner in honor of the awardees that is also suspended.

Among the awardees are prominent names from the Spanish cultural scene such as actress **Carmen Machi**, the musical duo **Camela**, writer **Elvira Lindo**, actress **Maribel Verdú**, and the group **Los Planetas**, as well as figures from theater, music, film, and other artistic disciplines.
