More than five years have passed since Ylenia Padilla last sat on a television set. After disappearing from Telecinco in September 2020 and having a brief but intense section on the radio program ‘Vodafone Yu’, the former ‘GH VIP’ contestant is now looking for an alternative to ‘La casa de los gemelos’ to reappear on the small screen.
Ylenia Padilla was called to be the great attraction of ‘The House of the Twins’. Her signing was announced with great fanfare by Carlos and Daniel, the creators of the format, but just a few days later the one from Benidorm announced that she was dropping out of the list of contestants: “My decision not to go ahead has been confirmed.”
Although at first she thanked the creators of the format for both “the interest and the opportunity” to be part of the project, the one from Benidorm just a few days later ended up lashing out at the producers and airing the reasons for her absence: “I am not going to go to the program because we have not reached an agreement on the conditions. When people are not serious, these things happen. As so many other times, those people have lied again”.
This disagreement in the negotiations was a big blow for Ylenia, given that she is eager to return to public life. “For her, it has been an absolute disappointment not being able to return as she had planned, because it was a program that excited her; and much more after seeing how much people love and value her”, explains a person close to Padilla to me.
After this sudden change of plans, Ylenia would have already decided to look for other ways to return to television, which would involve granting an explosive interview to ‘¡De viernes!’. From Telecinco, as they explain to me, they would have already been interested in the contestant from ‘Gandía Shore’ on numerous occasions, intensifying contacts after she was declared “missing” after being reported for transphobic insults to the comedian Elsa Ruiz.
“Ylenia wants to sit on ‘¡De viernes!’ because she believes that, as of today, it is the best way to return to television and the program where they can pay her the most money, although she does not rule out other Telecinco programs if they don't want her there”, a close source confirms to me. Such is the interest in returning that Ylenia would have already stopped hanging up the phone —a very common practice on previous occasions— on journalists and conversations would have begun: “She intends to reach an agreement with some program because she knows that an interview can open the doors to other projects for her.”
Although for the moment there is no agreement, the one from Benidorm has already made a decision: she wants to grant an interview in which to explain in detail how and where she has lived in the five years in which we have stopped seeing her. “She wants to talk about everything; also about the people who have hurt her for many years. The only thing she doesn't want to talk about is the legal conflict with Elsa Ruiz, because that's what they have recommended to her”, they explain.
If the interview were to close, we would be, without a doubt, before one of the biggest draws of the season. The program that finally manages to get Ylenia to sit on its set and narrate her story ensures not only a success in audiences, but also a great impact on social media and among the young audience that has demanded her so much.
