The leak of the documentation related to the purchase of the penthouse used by the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, originated in an intense internal war within the environment of the Vice-Ministry of the Presidency, as 'ElConstitucional.es' has learned from different sources familiar with the movements that have occurred in recent weeks.
The focus of this internal battle would be located in the public company Planifica Madrid, whose CEO is Pedro Corbalán Ruiz since July 2023. The operation, according to these sources consulted by this newspaper, sought to wear down his position within the organization and pave the way for a change in the company's management.
In this strategy, the president of the Board of Directors of Planifica Madrid, Miguel Ángel García Martín, current Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Local Administration, would also be inevitably affected.
Always according to these sources, one of the members of the Board of Directors would have provided the newspaper El País with the minutes of several meetings held during the first half of the year, documentation in which different purchase operations and the use of certain properties are reflected.
The objective of the maneuver, these versions maintain, was to provoke an internal crisis that would allow pointing to a political responsible and subsequently justify changes in the management of the public company. The intention would be to remove Pedro Corbalán Ruiz from management and reserve him a political destination of lesser relevance in the next legislature, whether it be a municipal candidacy or a seat as a deputy.
The operation did not achieve the desired objectives
However, the operation would not have gone as planned. Various sources maintain that those who promoted the leak left enough clues for the strategy to end up turning against them.
In recent hours, within the Popular Party of Madrid tension has also increased after, according to these same sources, from the closest environment of the Vice-Minister of the Presidency it was insinuated that the leak could come from the environment of Alfonso Serrano or even Miguel Ángel Rodríguez (MAR).
That pointing would have provoked an immediate reaction. According to the consulted sources, the internal machinery of the party would have been activated to clarify the real origin of the leak and determine responsibilities, in an episode that once again evidences the power struggle that different sectors of the Madrid PP have been maintaining for a long time.
