Álvaro Zancajo and María Pastor are the chosen ones to be part of the Senate for Andalusia representing Vox

Vox already has its names for the Senate representing Andalusia. The current member of the Board of Directors of Radio Televisión Andaluza (RTVA), Álvaro Zancajo, and the director of the Municipal Office for Maternity Care of the Seville City Council, María Pastor Pérez-Angulo, will be chosen to be the party's senators representing the community, once the deadline for submitting proposals to the registry of the Andalusian Parliament for the XIII legislature ended this Monday.

In accordance with the results of the regional elections of May 17, the PP-A was entitled to five senators; the PSOE-A, three, and Vox, one, as in the previous legislature. However, the popular party will finally keep four, as they cede one to Vox due to the government agreement signed by both formations. The election methods have been different for each name; Vox registered a document this Monday, proposing Álvaro Zancajo as senator representing the community. María Pastor's name, however, has not been formally registered by Vox, but has been included by the PP-A in its proposal of five senators, one of whom is ceded to Santiago Abascal's formation.

This election has not been free of controversy, as the journalist arrives at a delicate moment. The Andalusian Anti-Fraud and Corruption Office admitted this month the complaint filed by Adelante Andalucía and has opened an investigation into him for acting as "communication director" of Vox and "not complying with the incompatibility regulations" of the RTVA Board of Directors, an body to which he belongs representing the party.

Zancajo joined Vox in 2022 to take charge of communication, and since 2024 he has been listed as national communication or media coordinator for the party, sharing responsibilities in the national communication area. Simultaneously, in 2022 Vox proposed him as a member of the RTVA Board of Directors, an appointment that was formalized in October of that year. As a board member, RTVA publishes a fixed annual remuneration of 43,842.96 euros, in addition to 992.04 euros for telephone and a variable amount of 656.34 euros for each attendance at a Board session, with a maximum of 30 annual meetings, plus expenses subject to justification.
