The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, has announced the progressive implementation of free education in early childhood education from 0 to 3 years old in the community, a measure with which the regional Government seeks to facilitate family and work reconciliation.

Moreno has explained that the objective is to advance towards a model in which families can access without cost to this educational stage, emphasizing that the initiative aims to “support families” and strengthen the educational system from the earliest stages. In this sense, he has defended that early childhood education is “key” for the development of minors and to guarantee equal opportunities.

The measure will be applied progressively and will be linked to the network of educational centers adhering to the Andalusian public system. The autonomous Executive plans to expand current coverage and increase the number of available places, in a context in which early schooling has been gaining importance in recent years.

The Andalusian president has highlighted that this initiative will have a direct impact on household economies, by reducing the cost that schooling entails at these ages. Likewise, he has framed the measure within a broader strategy to support birth rates and work-life balance.

The announcement has occurred during an institutional visit to an educational center in the Sevillian municipality of Los Molares, where Moreno has highlighted the role of these spaces in the educational and social development of children in their first years of life.
